What we're working on next semester:

Campus Climate Challenge:

Stop complaining about global warming and start solving it!  Join thousands of other students across the country fighting the problem, right here on campus and also state and nationwide.  We're fighting to make Fitchburg's campus greener, trying to enact a recycling program, and raising awareness about global warming solutions on campus.  Come get involved! Contact: Mike Audet, maudet1@student.fsc.edu

Hunger and Homelessness:

We're the richest country in the world, but 33 million people are still going hungry every year - it's absurd.  We're working to solve the problem here in Fitchburg, raising awareness about the issues, and then also doing our part with service in the community.  This semester's big event is Hunger Awareness week, which is hoping to raise money and highlight the needy in our community.  Contact: Mai Yang, myang@student.fsc.edu

New Voters Project:

Help us turn youth out to the polls!  We register students to vote, remind them when to go, and make sure our candidates are talking about issues youth care about.  Make politicians pay attention to us! Contact: Sarah Durfee, sdurfee@student.fsc.edu

College and Textbook Affordability:

Every year, 200,000 qualified students don't go to college because they can't afford it, and more and more students are graduating with lots of debt due to the rising cost of college and textbooks.  MASSPIRG is working to make sure politicians know about the problems, and that they address them.  Our Affordable Textbooks bill is working its way through the State House, but we need to do more.  Help us make higher education more affordable!  Contact: Cory Brader, cory@masspirgstudents.org
