MCLA Fall 2011 Accomplishments
Thursday, December 29, 2011
By Thanks for being a part of MASSPIRG this year and helping make 2011 a success!
Check out a few of our highlights:
- Building more energy efficient communities by conducting home energy audits and performing a weatherization of one North Adams home to help homeowners save energy and money.
- Supporting Massachusetts recycling by collecting and delivering 10,000 signatures (275 in North Adams!) asking the state legislature to update the Bottle Bill.
- Raising $1000 in a combined fundraiser with BCC and over 70 items to donate to area food pantries and homeless shelters.
- Teaming up with the cast of Mad Men to make a Funny or Die video supporting High Speed Rail.
- Joining the Textbook Rebellion, a national tour to raise awareness about the high cost of textbooks and affordable solutions. The tour collected 10,000 petition signatures and was featured in 100 news stories.
By joining together and funding MASSPIRG here at MCLA, we've been able to bring about some great results. Thanks for your support!
Of course, there's still a lot to be done on all of our campaigns. I’m excited for next semester!
Thanks,
Kelsey Wyco
